Beautiful visually. Waterston quite a good physical comic, and in case one hasn't already acknowledged the debt Edward Albe owes to Sir Noël, this one should clarify.
ReplyDeletePithy and fun. Always good to have an evening filled with laughter. Noël Coward can come into my life any time and the actors did a great job camping it up.
ReplyDeleteFun, funny, fabulous..... expert acting in a clever comedy, wit and belly laughs combined. The two leads offered marvelous comic interplay. Victor was excellent too, the right balance of pomposity and earnestness. My compliments to all. I brought my teenage daughters-- the younger was bored at first (the show was a bit beyond her own experience) but she too was laughing by the end. My elder daughter and I were laughing right from the start. So good to laugh together. Thank you Huntington Theater.
ReplyDeleteNoel Coward plays can be dated and come across as a bit stodgy, but not Private Lives at the Huntington. Fresh, witty, clever and laugh-out-loud funny, this production parlays perfect timing into a delightful theater experience.
